Question: Is this a good time for me to start a new business?

                                                                                                  The Heart Card:

This is where you are now. This is your place in the universe. The Wheel of Fortune is one of the most powerful cards in the deck. It speaks of ups and downs, fortunes made and lost, success and failure. It is also about cycles and circles, a time for everything, things in their turn. To draw it as your heart card is extremely powerful: it tells me that you will be driven by the winds of fortune, wherever they may take you. You accept that there are things you can't control, and you embrace the risk as a natural aspect of living. An adventurous, exciting card. You could go anywhere.

                                                                                                The Blocking Card:

This represents anything that is standing in your way or impeding your progress. It could be something physical, or psychological or spiritual. The King of Wands is the pinnacle of the Wands suit, which is a suit of action. He represents a trial or test. He says that you will be tested, your resources will be stretched, but that you will ultimately succeed. Nothing worth having is won lightly, and The King Of Wands is the card of a fighter, one who deserves what he gains.

                                                                               The Root Card:

This is what is at the root of everything. This is where your wishes, dreams and desires come from. You may be unaware of these, but that may make them even more powerful. This card is telling me that your most powerful motivator is the need for justice, for what is right. Judgement speaks of the desire for fairness, for what is due to you. You feel a strong sense that you are not getting what you deserve.

                                                                                                   The Past Card:

What lies in your past. Things forgotten, neglected, but perhaps still operating, without your knowledge. The Emperor is a symbol of strength, self-possession, completeness. He is telling me that you are a strong, competent person, one who perseveres, one who overcomes. Your past has been a succession of battles, but you have won through and emerged strong and whole.

                                                                                                  Your Goal Card:
What you want to happen in the future. The Page of Wands is an enigmatic figure, but he partly represents new journeys, new actions, and the need for change. He can represent the birth of a child, but more powerfully he is telling me of change, newness, new challenges, new tests.

                                                                                                 The Future Card:
A vastly significant card. The World represents completion, wholeness, ultimate triumph. For this to pop up in your future position means your way ahead looks bright. Your path should be clear. You will attain everything you wish for.

That completes the first stage of the reading, the two wheels (inner and outer). The wheels are feminine in nature, describing your creative and emotional aspects. Every card here is reinforcing the others, and the presence of so many Major Arcana (The World, The Emperor, Judgement and The Wheel of Fortune) indicates that Fate is smiling on your endeavours. But there will be a trial or test: The King of Wands insists on that. This test will block your path, but you will overcome it. In your past lies strength: in your future, completion.

Next we look at your masculine side, The Tower. This is all about your drives, your appetites, also your doubts.

                                                                                          How You See Yourself:
Don’t panic. The Nine of Swords is called ‘Terror, or The Nightmare’, but it means just that: fear of the unknown, illusory fear. It doesn’t mean that something terrible is going to happen, it means that you are fearful that it might. Fear is your enemy here. Perhaps fear is the trial that the King of Wands spoke of. Sometimes you feel that you can’t go on, but your strength and drive pull you through to the other side. As with any trial, you will emerge stronger.

                                                                                              How Others See You:
The Ten of Wands is a burden, something you can barely carry any more. You are within sight of laying down this heavy load, but you must carry it a little further yet. Others see you as a person with great trouble and responsibility in your life, but one who shoulders the weight and carries on. Struggle, but with an end in sight.

                                                                                          The Question or Advisor:
More Wands! This time the Six, the card of leadership. Powerful actions, positive and energetic. Decisiveness, impulse, drive. Mobilising forces, organising, making things happen. This is in the position of Doubt, Questions and Advice. So is there a question over your ability to lead? Do you yourself doubt your leadership ability? Perhaps sometimes you do.

                                                                                                    The Outcome:
How are things going to work out? The Page of Pentacles really couldn’t be better here. He speaks of newness, but specifically of new wealth (pentacles = coins). He is one who seeks wealth, looks for new opportunities, is entrepreneurial and risk-taking. He will travel widely and find wealth and success.

These last four cards are called The Tower, and represent your masculine energies. With all the swords and wands (both masculine suits), and a Page at the top, your Tower is in fine shape, suggesting vigorous action, drive, perseverance and the ability to maintain your course no matter what.

So to sum up, your new business enterprise looks extremely well-favoured. The Major Arcana (the cards with names, such as The World and The Emperor) are strong cards, which exert a massive influence over the whole reading. To draw The Wheel of Fortune and The World is quite astonishing: one speaks of your fate being decided by forces beyond your conscious control, the other says that you will gain everything that you wish for, and more. Submit yourself to Fate, these two cards say, and you will win everything you dream of. The Nine of Swords represents your fear of what you are about to do, and the King of Wands speaks of challenges. But the Page of Pentacles is the icing on the cake here: he tells me that you will go out into the world, with hope in your heart, and you will achieve your goals. There will be tests along the way, but your determination and energy, shown by the strength of your Tower, will bring you safely through, to success and wealth. Fate is smiling on your new business. You have all the qualities needed to make it a success. All you have to fear is fear itself.
